We started slate rock painting about three years ago(self taught). When we began
painting on the rocks, we noticed that each piece was unique - someone once said that each rock looked like the shape
of an iceberg.
We have pieces in England, Germany, Greenland, United States, every province
in Canada has a piece of the rock, and of course all over Newfoundland.
The paintings are done with acrylic and sprayed with a matte finish. All of the
paintings are good for outside. Over the past three years, we have done quite a variety such as, Newfoundland Outports,
wildlife(moose, loon, polar bear, puffins, newfoundland dog, seagulls, eagles, wolves, etc....), longliners, summer homes,
antique cars, ski-doos, motorcycles, (sorry, but we don't do portraits of people). We have tried our hand at about
just anything.
Our son, Brady and our daughter, Kayla is also well gifted when it comes to painting.
Brady, who is 12, won second place in designing the Memorial Academy School logo, and Kayla , who is 21, before she graduated
from Lester Pearson Memorial High School, painted a murial on the wall in one of the classrooms.

Newfoundland Slate are hand picked from a quarry in Trinity Bay. Each piece of slate is sanded , washed, and
inspected for cracks before the actual painting is done.
